Update on my Dad

Immediately following Christmas my Dad was admitted to UMASS for his stem cell transplant. So far so good.....he has buzzed off his hair and appears to be taking it all in stride. He remains in good spirits despite some nausea. His white count is back on the rise and hopefully he will be allowed to come home in a week or two. I'm pretty sure he is craving fast food. He's not allowed to eat anything that isn't prepackaged, frozen first, single serving, etc. No lunch meat, no fresh fruits and veggies (because of risk of bacterial contamination). I think he's making a list of the restaurants he wants to visit when this part of the ordeal has come to a close.

The unit he is on only has 5 beds. He is going a little stir crazy, so feel free to call him and eat up some of the time. He has been walking every day, trying to keep up his strength. Please keep him in your thoughts. Thanks.

Super Maddie

Madeleine's playtime has become increasingly more and more imaginative. I came home last week and she had made a train out of our kitchen stools (fyi she stuck Hannah in the caboose). In any case we were pretending to be the toys on Toy Story 3 who go over the cliff. She pretended to be Buzz Lightyear and saved us from crashing into the chasm. She became "Super Maddie". She requested a cape be pinned to her back and that I fly around with her once the train wreckage had been avoided. Check out the pics

Snow

Brian texted me at work with these photos of the girls playing outside. The miniature snowman
scared me half to death when I came up the walkway later that night. He looks cute though in the light of day, but alas he is just a puddle now :(

Christmas Continued

Mimi and Popi surprised the girls with this little number. Maddie exclaimed, "It's a car!!! For me!!!" Hannah was pictured in the front seat but promptly screamed to be released after Maddie hit the gas pedal. "Dada, can I get snow tires?".

Christmas

Thought it would be funny to show you Hannah getting progressively more angry about the dress she is wearing.

So Santa came (on the right day this year because mommy wasn't working).....He brought a boat load of fun things. Some of my favorites include the ice skates for Maddie and I that I hope we will be using this coming weekend, and a pair of UGGs. Santa got Brian Celtics tickets - pretty good huh? Hannah got a miniature laptop that even I can't figure out, along with her own car from Grammie and Grampie. She also got a Jack in the Box which manages to surprise her everytime. Everyone was over and Brian cooked yet another amazing holiday dinner. Auntie E was in attendance and forever available. No more working holidays in retail. Whoo Hoo!
